Rescue:
One of Pet Patrol‘s volunteers had received a call in regards to some kittens on a farm.
This is a nice tidy property well off the road which provides a safe haven for roaming cats.
However, they felt they had too many at the time. There were at least two or three adults,
and four teenagers and then there were tiny kittens. When our volunteer arrived it was a
very cold rainy fall day and everything felt damp and chilled. Going into the clean barn she
found the kittens were in a cage, surrounded by a cement wall with straw on the floor. It
was very cold in there and the kittens were all cuddled very tightly in one corner, doing their
best to keep themselves warm. Quickly they were placed in carriers and brought back to
the warmth of the sanctuary. Most of them needed some eye medication for a mild infection,
but otherwise they were bright and alert. They had only been fed mothers milk, sparingly,
and when introduced to kitten kibble they devoured it. It has been wonderful to watch
these kittens go from scared and skinny too happy and healthy
Personality:
Boomer can be a bit shy at first but this sweet boy has really come out of his shell in a
short period of time. He can be found cuddled up with his siblings then like a flash, he is
gone to catch a springy toy. He likes to hide behind and underneath things and sneak up to
get your toes. Such a sweet cat he loves to be picked up and loudly purrs on your lap. He
will hang out on the cat post and wait for a sibling to fly by then make his move and get into
the fun. Boomer is ready to be adopted into his forever home with a sibling or playmate.
One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
