Rescue:
One of Pet Patrol‘s volunteers had received a call in regards to some kittens on a farm.
This is a nice tidy property well off the road which provides a safe haven for roaming cats.
However, they felt they had too many at the time. There were at least two or three adults,
and four teenagers and then there were tiny kittens. When our volunteer arrived it was a
very cold rainy fall day and everything felt damp and chilled. Going into the clean barn she
found the kittens were in a cage, surrounded by a cement wall with straw on the floor. It
was very cold in there and the kittens were all cuddled very tightly in one corner, doing their
best to keep themselves warm. Quickly they were placed in carriers and brought back to
the warmth of the sanctuary. Most of them needed some eye medication for a mild infection,
but otherwise they were bright and alert. They had only been fed mothers milk, sparingly,
and when introduced to kitten kibble they devoured it. It has been wonderful to watch
these kittens go from scared and skinny too happy and healthy.
Personality:
Abu and Attina are an energetic, playful and loving pair. They are attentive to their people
and will wake up to play the moment they see a friendly face. Their favourite toys are
feather wands and balls, often catching them and walking away with their treasure in their
mouth. But their favorite thing to do is chase one another and wrestle. Their personalities
are similar to one another, almost like twins. Where one goes the other follows. If one
hops on a lap for some pets and purrs, the other one joins in. If one sees adventure the
other follows suit. They are gentle with people, though they may try to play with your fingers,
it is with a very soft paw. Abu is the vocal one, making little squeaks as he plays. It
will melt your heart. These two sweeties are ready to be adopted into their forever home
together. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors
