Rescue:
Eddie had been noticed running around the sanctuary property for quite some time. In the
spring time he showed up looking at everyone with his cute little orange and white face and
chatting away at people. That’s a sign that he’s frightened but friendly and asking people for
help. A truly feral cat would not know to do that. Eddie was not ready for anyone to touch him
just yet and came for the food put out on the porch, faithfully, every evening. It is assumed that
he came from one of the two barns that are just a short field away from the sanctuary, and one
day he was noticed over there. But he seemed to be spending more and more of his time on
the sanctuary property and one day when it was very cold and wet and windy outside, he just
sat on the back porch of the house waiting to be fed. He stayed all day, was fed many times,
and it was very obvious that he had no place to go for the winter. It did not take very long for
him to go into the humane trap after the yummy food and then was immediately brought into the
sanctuary.
Personality:
Eddie is a really sweet boy. He is super affectionate and likes to bunt his head into your hand
and give him nice scratches. Under his chin, around his ears, along his back. He loves it all.
He has adjusted to living indoors, convinced that the cold weather is not something he wants
to navigate any more. His last days outside were miserable. He is quite happy to stretch out
on the wide window ledge and bask in the sun. He is adorable, chatty and happy. He doesn’t
know too much about toys at this early stage of his rescue but he is showing interest. Eddie is
ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep
him safely indoors
