Rescue:
The photo sent to Pet Patrol showing five little kittens eating out of a dish, was heartbreaking.
They were on a dirt floor in a cold drafty barn. It had been raining quite a bit lately and the air
was damp and chilly. The kittens were small, skinny and in very poor shape. Most of the kittens
had colds and runny eyes. The owner of the country property said “they just showed up, I don’t
have cats in my barn. We are strictly cash crop so there is no feed to attract mice, therefor no
need to have any cats. Someone just dumped the kittens.” Three were rescued and brought
into Pet Patrol but she couldn’t find the other two initially. It was about three days later when
she called to say she not only had the two remaining kittens but also another one that she was
not aware of. In total six kittens. all their names starting with the letter P came into Pet Patrol
care and they have thrived. They were happy to be warm, well fed and soon rolling over for
their bellies to be rubbed and enjoyed snuggles as well
Personality:
Poppy is a beautiful grey tabby. She loves it when we tell her how pretty she is, pet her and
give her a nice chin scratch. Poppy has a great purr showing you she is happy, content and
loves the attention you are giving her. She is quiet but does like to connect and cuddle with
other cats. Like all kittens she is playful and is quite active with her toys. They were quite a
mystery for her in the beginning, but any toy on a string/wand is chased, jumped at and
pounced on. Poppy is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her
into the family and keep her safely indoors
