Rescue:
Pearl was deemed a feral cat because she was living on the street. She lived at the end of a
dead end street where the neighbours all fed her, took care of her kittens as well as the rest of
the colony. She had a few litters every year. One lady in particular was on a mission to have
them spayed or neutered, find homes for them or if truly feral, at least make sure they could not
reproduce. They had warm shelters and food year round so re releasing them was no problem.
She contacted local cat rescues and the kittens were taken in, two kittens born the year
before were pretty wild, fixed and released again and Pet Patrol took in Pearl. At first, we
thought she was untameable, but she proved quite receptive to petting. Now she lifts her bum
and purrs. When rescuing a cat you never know what you are going to get until they are inside,
safe and secure.
Personality:
Pearl is a gentle and curious kitty who thrives in a quiet house. She finds a quiet spot to watch
when her family is active around the house, and comes over to ask for pets and scratches
when they sit down. New people are scary but interesting. Pearl watches them intently from
her hiding spot when they arrive and will sometimes warm up enough to ask to be pet before
they leave. A hunter in her previous life, Pearl loves chasing toy mice, especially if they make
chirping sounds. She also likes to paw around in puzzle toys. This pretty girl is deserving of a
forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
