Rescue:
One of Pet Patrol’s volunteers knew of a Momma cat roaming the small town. She had
spent her life living in and around a Feed Mill where there were warm spots to sleep, food
to catch (she was a good mouser) and water from the creek. An ideal location for a cat
without a proper home. The bonus for her: there was also a lovely couple next door who
would put food out for her twice a day. They also had a nice covered porch with flowers
beds surrounding it. Once this momma had her six kittens, and they were big enough to
wander about, she moved closer to the house and porch. It provided many safe places to
hide. The couple became concerned for their safety once they got close to the road.
Through our volunteer they reached out to Pet Patrol for help and with lots of patience and
some stealthy moves the entire family was rescued and brought to Pet Patrol.
Personality:
It has been nice watching Arrow and his litter mates as they become more comfortable
living indoors. Unsure of people and toys when they first arrived they would quickly run and
hide at the sight of someone new. It hasn’t taken long for them to come out of their shell
and be truly lovable kittens. Often found cuddled up as a group of four or chasing each
other up the cat tree and back down again. They all seek attention and purr loudly when
you pick them up. Arrow was the most timid of all the kittens in this litter, when he first
arrived, but he is just the sweetest boy now. Walking into the room he is immediately purring
and ready for a good scratch under his chin. He is very curious and loves to investigate
anything new into the house (box, bag, toy or shoes). His favourite game is playing hide
and seek and is often found in a cozy cave kitty bed. He’ll quickly hop out to seize the
moment and play with the wand toy, a favourite catch and release game. Arrow is ready to
be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors.
