Spencer

Rescue:

One of Pet Patrol’s foster homes was trying to rescue a stray cat or two, that had been coming
to the feeding station on her back deck. One was champagne in colour, one grey and one
brown tabby and white ( Spencer II). The champagne one she had seen on a regular basis
and she was keen on bringing him into Pet Patrol care via a humane trap. She set it up and
found a grey boy in there instead, and brought him to the sanctuary right away. She had only
noticed him occasionally. The champagne one came the next night and literally walked right
into the trap and was eating the food nonchalantly when the door closed behind him. Soon he
was at the sanctuary. Still seeing kitty foot prints in the snow, she set the humane trap again.
That is when she rescued Spencer II (named that because we already had a Spencer in our
care). He was not impressed. But it was the middle of winter and the weather was brutal
outside. Unfit for any kitty to be out there. But in time, Spencer II has grown to appreciate the
climate controlled environment, comforts of a home and the people around him. He likes to be
pet now and shows us how friendly he can be

Personality:

Spencer is a big friendly boy who is gentle and loves his best bud, Teddy. They are often
found rubbing their heads together or curled up with each other. Spencer gets along with all
the cats at the sanctuary and is often seen playing with everyone. He loves when someone
comes to visit them with treats and will sit patiently waiting for one to be tossed to him. He is
like a teddy bear and is kind to all the new cats that arrive. He can be a little shy at first with
new people, but once he is comfortable around you, he will come for his share of pets. He
likes chasing around the bouncy spring toys and balls. He is often found lying in the sunshine.
Spencer would do well with Teddy or with any cat that is gentle like him. He has been known to
charm some of the girls at the sanctuary too. This handsome boy is ready to be adopted into
his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
