Rescue:
PetPatrol received a call from a couple who were going to be moving. Not across town, not
to the next province and not across Canada. They were moving down to a very tropical
location in the Caribbean. They had family who had migrated down there and absolutely
loved the lifestyle, cost of living and advantages of the wonderful weather and felt this
would be a good location to retire to. They had four cats and a dog. They intended to take
all of them with them on this journey; which was a very expensive endeavour but the rules
were you could only take four pets. Since it was expensive, and as Abby was not spayed
she would, unfortunately, be left behind. Through family and friends they were not able to
find a home for her and reached out to rescue organizations to see if they have space for
her. Abby came to us from a fair distance away. She is a cutey and will steal your heart.
Personality:
From her previous owner: Abby is the sweetest, most beautiful and affectionate little furbaby
ever. She can be timid at first but when she becomes comfy with a person she never
wants to leave you alone. Lol. Of course, like many cats , she loves to follow you into the
bathroom. I think it’s because she knows she is going to get unlimited pets, rubs and
attention. She loves it when I turn on the bathroom tap and let a tiny stream of water come
out and she drinks it up. She has a very soft, sweet meow, which makes her even more
precious. Abby gets along with all the cats and previously with our big baby dog. She is
quite polite and does not scratch furniture. I am so sorry we can’t bring our girl with us. It
was a very hard decision to make. It was not our intention to do this, to re home her, but we
have no choice. We want Abbie to be happy. She needs and deserves this. Abby is ready
to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep
her safely indoors.
