Rescue:
Rescue groups work together when there is a large colony of cats that we need to help
with. When the numbers exceed what we can accommodate in space and vet care (financially),
then we reach out to others. Danielle and Dolly, were part of a colony of about fifteen
cats or so in a small town on the outskirts of the city. A woman, who is a vet tech, heard about
the cats there and went to investigate. She has rescued moms and kittens before and has all
the contacts for medical care for them. The cats were fed poorly (yellow bag cat food) and
the barn was becoming dilapidated. A mother cat and kittens were rescued first, and she
asked Pet Patrol if we could take Danielle and Dolly. These two girls are lovely and sweet and
although timid to begin with they have excelled in their socializing with our volunteers. They
are not big cats, but cuddly and sweet.
Personality:
Danielle and Dolly are adorable and although their personalities are individual, they are very
bonded to each other. Danielle is more energetic of the two and loves to play and run around.
Dolly, being a little more reserved, looks to her sister to join the playing sessions. They both
love shoelaces, small toys they can roll around with, and they like to cuddle and wrestle with
each other. They both have this very mature and serious look but deep down they are very
kittenish and love a good pet and head scratches. They love afternoon naps curled up together,
and will resume play time and running around as soon as they are recharged. With love
and time they will integrate into their new home. One that will welcome them into the family
and keep them safely indoors.
