Letty

Letty

Letty

Rescue:

Letty’s story told by her rescuer: She was first spotted under a cube van during the winter as I
was dropping off my girlfriend at her apartment. It was stationed in a parking lot, with very little
else around but buildings, asphalt and other vehicles. A very barren environment. We saw her
two kittens as well, run towards the van then disappear, hiding underneath on the truck’s axle.
We put food out for them daily, canned fish/cat food until we were able to set a humane trap to
rescue them. After eight days we brought in one kitten and Letty. She stayed in a variety of
homes (with her kitten until it was adopted) for just a day or two each time until taken to the city
shelter for adoption. We had hopes for her but the shelter said she was feral and wouldn’t
take her. She was spayed, vaccinated and microchipped at that time, then they asked us to
take her back and release to where we found her – but we wanted a better life for her. My
heart would not let me abandon Letty. Luckily, we found Pet Patrol and drove an hour and a
half to secure her future in their care. Her other kitten has since been rescued and adopted

Personality:

Coming from the harsh environment that she did, Letty never had the opportunity to be pet or
handled by people. She is always fearful when people are around and not approachable at
all. When people are not in the building she acts like any other cat, flopping on the floor to
catch a sunbeam, sauntering over to the food dish and batting at a toy (not really understanding
its purpose). As soon as someone comes in the door she runs and hides. Hissing is the
only form of communication that she knows. After trying to work with Letty and seeing no
progress we feel she would be a much happier cat on a hobby farm. One that will watch out
for her, provide her with food and shelter and kind words.
