Meeka

Rescue:

A woman had been calling around to different rescues in her area, trying to find a place for a
pretty cat in her backyard. This is Melba’s story: Apparently this pretty Torti had been crying at
her door for a few months. She wasn’t able to bring it into her house (as much as she loves
cats) because her husband was highly allergic. She immediately she began feeding her and
developed a routine in the morning and in the evening, but where she slept overnight; they
never did figure that out. She appeared to be clean and dry when she came into the sanctuary
so she must have found a corner somewhere inside a shed, or the neighbours dilapidated
pool house possibly. Because Melba would only come within a few feet of the woman, she
was rescued by using a humane trap, and on the drive to the sanctuary she was asking a lot of
questions (mewing). Upon arrival she was easy to pet and pushed her head into our hands
with love and affection. At this time she was hugely pregnant and she had her kittens within seven days.

Personality:

Meeka was the shy one in the crew and that could be because it was a large litter. Always
one sitting on the side lines watching the others. She is adorable though and loves being pet
and cuddled by people she knows. She is a big fan of a round cozy bed, liking to have things
wrapped around her and spaces to peek out from to watch what is going on. On the other
hand she is very energetic and loves to play with wand toys, kitty tunnels, bouncy balls and toys
that rattle or make crinkly noises. She is a very loving cat who just needs a little more one to
one attention to bring out her personality. It would be good for her to have a buddy to play with
and depend on when her owners are working. Meeka is ready to be adopted into her forever
home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
