Boomer

Rescue:

A woman left an emotional voice message on the Pet Patrol line in regards to a cat that
she was feeding. The cat appeared last year in her back garden and she immediately put
food out for her, and watched from the window. But when the kitty realized she was being
watched she quickly slunk away. Day after day, this continued until one afternoon she
heard the mews of kittens under the back deck and saw two little ones under there, with
the female cat. The three of them seemed to be together a lot but then one kitten disappeared
and then shortly after that the other kitten disappeared. It is unknown if they were
rescued by a neighbour or something else happened to them, but the adult cat remained
there, distant and untouchable. During her phone message the woman began to cry because
she couldn’t bear the thought of the cat having to endure another winter. Using a
humane trap, she was able to quickly rescue the cat and bring it into Pet Patrol care. It
was there that we discovered that this female cat was actually a male. This was Boomer.
There were actually two cats that looked very much alike, and a few weeks later the female
cat returned to the woman’s porch and was rescued as well.

Personality:

Boomer can be found together with a buddy (Kosmo) in the far corner of the playroom,
under the bed. Boomer has shown no interest in people or allowing us to get anywhere
near him. He will stay far away from you but he has never hissed or shown aggression
towards us. He loves his treats though and will happily take some if you toss them his way.
He seems curious about people but is not interested in being friends with us.
