Rescue:

It is always nice to have a cat in the house. That extra heartbeat, soft purr and their gentle
ways create a calming effect. They are known to reduce stress and high blood pressure, and
are very good company, especially for people living alone. An elderly man rescued Charlotte
when she was just a teenage cat. He discovered her in his garage one winter, digging into a
bag of garbage searching frantically for food. It is not known how he got her into the house;
but she was never going outside again. With time and patience she changed from a very
skittish and frightened little cat to a gentle, loving and people oriented girl. It is unfortunate
though that life has changed for the man, and Charlotte can no longer live with him. He is having
to move to a Senior’s retirement home and although Charlotte could go with him, he was
finding it difficult with his disabilities to look after her properly. With only a few days before he
had to move, one of our volunteers drove to retrieve his beloved cat through a blustery, snowy
day and brought her into Pet Patrol care

Personality:

Charlotte is an average sized kitty, not obese like some couch potato cats can become when
they are in a quiet home. She is looking pretty good and is quite a nice little cat. She is a kitty
that can provide company for someone living on their own, she is chatty and likes her ears and
cheeks rubbed. She will greet you when you come in the door, chirping happily to see you.
She is calm and likes to sit beside you on the couch for an afternoon movie or snooze. Being a
friendly cat, she is good with new people coming into the house and likes to rub up against
your legs. Charlotte has not been exposed to other cats or dogs, and we feel continuing her
life as an only pet might be her preference. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home.
One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
