Rescue:
A woman who has a feeding station in a small town and has brought us some of her street
cats previously, was concerned about a little dilute Torti. She was presently in the care of
her friend who had rescued her. The lady lives on a farm and was walking along the side of
a country road. She noticed a little cat walking around the bush line. It is not known how she
was able to gently approach the little cat without it running from her. She picked her up and
popped her in her coat. She hung onto her for dear life. Every step of the trip back to her
farm the woman was conscious of not letting this cat go. Now safely indoors and named
Pippi, she was initially timid so they kept her in the bathroom. There she could be pet,
handled and the friend made sure that she had everything she needed. Pippi ate and slept
for three days from sheer exhaustion. She had a lot of sores around her neck and it looks
like she may have had a collar on but it has since been lost. The sores were quite deep and
infected but soon healed up with proper care. Pippi then came to Pet Patrol in good health
and ready for a new life.
Personality:
As each day went by Pippi gained her confidence, relaxed and enjoyed being someplace
that was warm. She had endured the brutal and unforgiving winter weather, starvation and
being utterly alone. She now shows us a very easy-going personality, loves affection and
pets and will gently tap your hand for more love. She is not sure about being picked up yet,
but that will come with time and patience. Pippi is a very playful cat and chatty as well. Her
rescuer had large dogs in the house and Pippi was quite frightened of them. She is ready to
be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors
