Rescue:
Calia seemed to just appear out of nowhere on a country property that only has a drive shed
on it. The house and barn have long been torn down and this building is where the tractors and
other machinery were stored, but now rarely used. The elderly neighbour could see Calia
walking around the building from his kitchen window and went out to see if she was ok. She
scooted away in fear, through heavy snow, which would not have been pleasant for a cat
already cold and hungry. He made sure she had access to the building and started feeding
her. By the next day Calia had taken up residence and showed her appreciation by rubbing up
against his legs and purring loudly. Over the next few days he visited her often, but when he
tried to put her in a cat carrier to bring her into the house, she was not having any part of it.
His daughter runs a smaller cat rescue and helped him secure Calia and eventually she came
into Pet Patrol care.
Personality:
At first Calia would just squish her body into a cubby and hide. To someone who doesn’t know
her it may appear that she is not friendly, but that is far from the truth. Calia is adorable and
has a very sweet little face, she is happy to see her people and loves being around everyone.
As soon as she is touched, she will purr loudly, smile and knead with her paws in contentment.
She is a pretty little grey cat with no ears due to frost bite which makes her even more adorable.
It has been nice to watch her show her appreciation for being rescued, have warmth,
comfort and not be alone any more. Calia is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One
that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
