Rescue:
Pet Patrol’s Volunteers received a call from a woman who has brought cats to us over the
years. The cats would wander onto her small town property and she would feed them,
taking note of their health, personality and any injuries they may have. This boy, Walker,
showed up one day and she was concerned because he was looking pretty raggedy. He had
not had decent food for a long time and he was very concerned about his surroundings and
if anyone was going to hurt him. Living on the street is not all it’s cracked up to be. The cats
know that they are prey, and they never know when their next meal is coming. They have to
live through dramatic changes in weather, day after day, and many don’t fair well. When
Walker arrived at the sanctuary he was shy and reserved. He didn’t know what our intentions
were and he was very weak and in need of rest, food and vet care. But shortly after
he showed us a sweet and unassuming personality and has continued to thrive since then.
Personality:
What a dear boy Walker has turned out to be. He is very sweet and gentle, happy and
loving. He likes nothing more than to be with his people, whether it is on their lap, cuddled
up at bedtime or making sure they get all their computer work done. He is a calm cat who
makes himself at home, is not skittish and not afraid to greet new people as they come in
the door. Walker has made great strides in progressing with his personality and health and
is now ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family
and keep him safely indoors.
