Rescue:

Ember’s story told by her rescuer: One Saturday in the fall, my husband was behind the
barn ready to cut the grass when ”a brownish” flash passed him (he’s colorblind). The next
day my son saw the same cat run into the upper area of the barn. I searched for this mystery
cat and just about gave up, I was thinking it had moved on. Two weeks later while in the
barn and talking on the phone I heard meowing, but only when I spoke. So, I kept talking
and followed the sound until I found the lost kitty. She blended in with the hay, camouflaged
completely, and when I called out ”come on kitty kitty” and she appeared, a pretty soft
grey and dappled with muted orange little girl. When I put down the bowl of cat food and
she came running, and when I reached out to pet her she accepted it. I gave her time to
eat, then opened the carrier and tossed in some food, eagerly she went in but only half way
so I gave a little tap on her hind end and closed the door. Rescued! I brought her inside the
house and set up the large dog cage with more food, water, a litter box and comfy blankets.
She’s a very friendly cat and will jump a little to get you to pet her more. The name Ember
suits her colouring because the orange flecks are like a soft embers in a warm fire.

Personality:

What a wonderful cat. Right from the beginning Ember has shown us nothing but love and
affection. She is a dear little cat who appreciates being inside, safe, warm, dry and well fed.
She is so happy. It has been wonderful to watch her relax and become herself, a fun loving
and care free cat. She will readily come to you for affection and attention, jump into your
lap and snuggle right in. She is gentle and playful, polite and sweet natured. A great cat
and good company. We may never know where Ember came from, and we predict that she
may be Eddie’s sister as well (same location, same size and same temperament) , but she
is ready for her forever home now. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
