I’m just a little kitten.
I don’t really understand what’s happening… I just know one of my eyes hurts.
At first, everyone thought it was just an eye infection. The nice people at Pet Patrol took me to the vet right away, and I got medicine. We all hoped it would help.
I hoped it would too.
But instead… my eye just kept getting worse.
Every day it hurt a little more. It became harder to see, until one day… I couldn’t see out of it at all. I didn’t know why. I just tried to be brave.
The vets say a painful ulcer has badly damaged my eye. They tried everything they could, but the medicine couldn’t stop it. Now they’re worried it could rupture if we wait any longer.
That sounds really scary.
So now I need surgery to take my sore eye away.
I’m a little frightened because I’ve never had surgery before. But everyone keeps rubbing my head and telling me that when I wake up… the hurting will finally be gone.
They keep promising me that kittens do wonderfully with one eye. They say I’ll still chase toys, race around the house, climb cat trees, and do all the silly kitten things I’m supposed to do.
I really, really hope they’re right.
The surgery, medications, and all my follow-up care are expensive, but Pet Patrol didn’t hesitate to help me. They looked at one scared little kitten and decided I was worth fighting for.
