Mooch

Rescue:

Pet Patrol was alerted to a rural property where the number of cats had quietly grown beyond what
one family could manage. After an elderly woman passed away, her daughter inherited the
farmhouse, barn, drive shed, chicken coop, and the many cats her mother had lovingly cared for
over the years. As time went on, it became clear that keeping up with spaying and neutering had
become impossible, and by the time help arrived, there were 12 adult cats and 19 kittens living
throughout the property. While the buildings themselves were a little worn and cluttered, the cats
had managed to create cozy little shelters for themselves amongst the farm equipment, stacked
furniture, boxes, and warm straw scattered through the sheds and coop. A heat lamp in the chicken
coop helped keep many of them warm, and despite their circumstances, the cats were healthy,
friendly, and eager for attention. Volunteers were greeted by affectionate adults weaving around
their legs while tiny kittens peeked out shyly from behind abandoned fridges, stacked lawn chairs,
and hidden corners before slowly venturing out to investigate. They were safely brought into Pet
Patrol’s care, where they could begin their next chapter in loving foster homes.

Personality:

Mooch is a little orange boy who has truly grown into his cute. He has always had the sweetest
round little face and an affectionate personality to match. Mooch is usually one of the first kittens to
greet you when you enter the room, happily trying to climb onto your lap or even up your leg for
love and attention. Once he has had his snuggles, he is ready to play, whether it is with you, his
toys, or his kitten friends. All toys bring Mooch joy, and he has a playful, cheerful energy that makes
him so much fun to be around. Handraised around children and used to being handled often,
Mooch is a wellsocialized, loving boy. Raised with many other kittens, he is used to companionship
and would likely enjoy a kitten friend in his forever home. Mooch would like to be adopted into a
home that will keep him safely indoors.
