Rescue:

Pet Patrol was alerted to a rural property where the number of cats had quietly grown beyond what
one family could manage. After an elderly woman passed away, her daughter inherited the
farmhouse, barn, drive shed, chicken coop, and the many cats her mother had lovingly cared for
over the years. As time went on, it became clear that keeping up with spaying and neutering had
become impossible, and by the time help arrived, there were 12 adult cats and 19 kittens living
throughout the property. While the buildings themselves were a little worn and cluttered, the cats
had managed to create cozy little shelters for themselves amongst the farm equipment, stacked
furniture, boxes, and warm straw scattered through the sheds and coop. A heat lamp in the chicken
coop helped keep many of them warm, and despite their circumstances, the cats were healthy,
friendly, and eager for attention. Volunteers were greeted by affectionate adults weaving around
their legs while tiny kittens peeked out shyly from behind abandoned fridges, stacked lawn chairs,
and hidden corners before slowly venturing out to investigate. They were safely brought into Pet
Patrol’s care, where they could begin their next chapter in loving foster homes.

Personality:

Ori is a fluffy little gentleman with so much love to give. This handsome boy is happiest when he’s
being held, and he has a special way of melting right into your hands like he was made for
snuggles. Handraised around children and used to being handled often, Ori is a sweet, social boy
who loves attention. He is a rolypoly kitten who rolls around for belly rubs, love, and affection. His
eyes look straight into your soul, and it’s very hard not to fall in love with him. Ori also enjoys
playtime and loves batting springs around. He gets the occasional kitten zoomie, but so far he is a
little calmer than many of his siblings. Raised with many other kittens, Ori is used to having a
companion and would likely love a kitten friend to grow up with. Ori would like to be adopted into a
home that will keep him safely indoors.
