Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from one of our volunteers after a friend’s family found three tiny
orphaned kittens in their barn. Earlier that same day, the kittens’ mother had been seen nursing
them and everything seemed perfectly normal. Later that afternoon, visiting grandchildren excitedly
ran to the barn but quickly came back upset after finding a cat that had unexpectedly passed away.
When the family went to investigate, they realized it was the kittens’ mother. Fern, Flora, and Fairy
were gathered up and brought safely inside, but at only a few weeks old they were far too young to
be on their own. Unsure how to care for such tiny babies, the family reached out for help and,
through a Pet Patrol volunteer, Fern and her sisters soon arrived safely in care, where they could
receive the support they needed.
Personality:
Fairy and Fern are a delightful sister duo who bring the perfect balance of playfulness and affection.
Fairy is the chatty one, always ready to share her thoughts, follow her people from room to room,
and perch on a shoulder to stay close to the action. Fern is a gentle sweetheart who loves being
picked up and cuddled, often drifting off to sleep in your arms after a good play session. Together,
they love chasing toys, batting around balls and springs, and engaging in energetic wrestling
matches. When their kitten energy is finally spent, their favourite place to be is curled up together
for a cozy nap, whether beside their people, on a lap, or tucked into a warm blanket. Sweet, loving,
and full of personality, Fairy and Fern are ready to find a forever home that will welcome them as
family and keep them safely indoors.
