Rescue:
Pet Patrol was alerted to a rural property where the number of cats had quietly grown beyond what
one family could manage. After an elderly woman passed away, her daughter inherited the
farmhouse, barn, drive shed, chicken coop, and the many cats her mother had lovingly cared for
over the years. As time went on, it became clear that keeping up with spaying and neutering had
become impossible, and by the time help arrived, there were 12 adult cats and 19 kittens living
throughout the property. While the buildings themselves were a little worn and cluttered, the cats
had managed to create cozy little shelters for themselves amongst the farm equipment, stacked
furniture, boxes, and warm straw scattered through the sheds and coop. A heat lamp in the chicken
coop helped keep many of them warm, and despite their circumstances, the cats were healthy,
friendly, and eager for attention. Volunteers were greeted by affectionate adults weaving around
their legs while tiny kittens peeked out shyly from behind abandoned fridges, stacked lawn chairs,
and hidden corners before slowly venturing out to investigate. They were safely brought into Pet
Patrol’s care, where they could begin their next chapter in loving foster homes.
Personality:
Nash is a ball of melting fluff with the sweetest personality. When picked up, he goes completely
limp like a little noodle, and his foster jokes that his head is going to roll right off. He loves being
held and has the sweetest little purr. Nash is the perfect mix of cuddly and playful. He loves
stretching up tall cat trees, reaching for toys, and getting the zoomies with his brother Niro. He
would love to be adopted with Niro if possible, but he is also wonderful with other cats and kids. He
is a fun, silly boy who loves springs and anything he can chase across the floor. After playtime, he
will happily crash for a nap anywhere, even in the busiest spot in the kitchen or living room. Nash is
looking for a forever home where he will be loved, entertained, cuddled, and kept safely indoors.
