Petey

Petey

Rescue:

Pet Patrol had been aware of a farm south of the sanctuary where cats had been reproducing for
many years. When a young woman visited the property to pick up an item from a buyandsell
listing, she quickly noticed the number of cats living there and offered to help. Because she worked
at a veterinary clinic, she was able to assist in bringing the cats in one by one. Pregnant cats had
their kittens safely indoors, and over time the cats were adopted, spayed or neutered, and placed
into loving homes. Eventually the elderly woman who owned the farm decided to sell the property,
and only two cats remained—Petey being one of them. He was shy and unsure of his surroundings
when he first came into care, but with time and patience he began to understand the comfort,
security, and kindness people could offer him.

Personality:

Petey is a sweet, sensitive boy who just needs a little time to feel safe. New environments and
people can make him nervous at first, but with patience and a calm approach his true personality
begins to shine. Once Petey trusts you enough to accept pets, it’s like a switch flips—his loud,
rumbling purr kicks in and he melts into a wiggly bundle of affection, rolling around so you can find
all his favourite spots. As his bond with you grows, so does his confidence, and before long he’ll be
coming to greet you and asking for attention like he’s known you forever. Petey is also discovering
the joys of snuggling and is slowly working his way toward full lapcat status as he becomes more
comfortable being close. Playtime is another great way to connect with him—he loves toys he can
chase or toss around, especially large catnip mice, soft fabric balls, and feather wands. Petey
would do best in a calm home where he can settle in at his own pace, either as the only cat or with
a quiet, respectful feline companion. Petey is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that
will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
