Serious Wound On My Face

Hi… my name is Fluffy. 🐾

For a long time, I lived outside in the countryside. I stayed hidden in the bushes and forest, where I felt safest. There were coyotes and foxes nearby, and every night meant trying to stay quiet, stay small, and stay alive.

Sometimes kind people left food for me, and I would sneak out to eat when it felt safe enough. But there were many days when I disappeared for a while, and no one knew where I had gone… or if I would come back.

Living outside is scary. You learn not to trust too easily.

This winter I started coming back to the feeding station more often. The humans watching over me decided that maybe I deserved something better than a life spent hiding and surviving.

That’s how I came to Pet Patrol.

But when they finally saw me up close, they realized something was very wrong.

I had a large, deep wound on the side of my face. It hurt a lot, but I tried not to show it. When you live outside, you learn to hide pain. Showing weakness can be dangerous.

The vet said the wound was serious and needed surgery right away. They had to clean the injury, remove damaged tissue, and stitch it closed so it can start to heal.

I’m still scared. I’m not used to being around people yet. Everything is new and a little overwhelming.

But the humans here are patient and gentle. They tell me that once the pain is gone, it will be easier for me to relax… easier for me to learn that hands can be kind and that love can be safe.

Pet Patrol is making sure I get the surgery I need, but the cost of the procedure, medication, and recovery care adds up quickly.

If you can help, you would be giving a scared outdoor cat like me the chance to heal… and maybe, one day, the courage to accept the love that’s being offered.

Right now I’m still learning.
But for the first time in a long time… I feel hopeful.

With quiet, careful purrs,
Fluffy 💙🐱
