Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from a traditional farm where a mother cat had chosen a straw filled
bucket as her nursery. A photo showed her curled tightly around her kittens against a cold cement
wall—far from cozy, but all she had. When a volunteer arrived on a quiet summer day, the little
family had been moved into a chicken box, offering slightly more shelter. The mama cat, though thin
and tired, was friendly and devoted, passing along her sweet nature to her kittens: Eccles, Éclair,
and Eggnog. Thanks to Pet Patrol, these kittens grew up safe, cared for, and loved, now ready for
homes of their own.
Personality:
Eccles (and his sister) truly believes everyone—humans and cats alike—already loves him. He
purrs the moment you make eye contact, audible from across the house, and he’ll flop over on his
back when he wants your attention. Eccles is the chatty hypeman of his family, trilling to himself
before big jumps, greeting you each morning to ask how you slept, and requesting his beloved
“morning uppies” where’s he’s picked up for cuddles and kisses. He’s also known as the Shower
Inspector, completely fascinated by running water. Eccles is a playful and very active kitten, with
energy reserves that would make the Energizer Bunny jealous. He loves springs and pom poms,
and oftens plays chase with other cats. In fact, Eccles requires another cat companion to be his
best self. Ideally, he should be adopted with his sister Éclair or into a home with another friendly
feline that will play with, groom, and sleep with him. He adores his humans, but there’s something
he finds special about the companionship of another kitten that can’t be ignored. Fearless,
affectionate, and endlessly entertaining, this boy is pure happiness in feline form. Eccles is ready to
be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely
indoors.
