Rescue:
Rusty was born on a small family farm with a cozy barn, friendly milk cows, a mini horse, and a community of well cared for barn cats. He was known early on as the happy go lucky kitten —always cheerful, always ready for affection. But one day, while the farmer was trying to control rodents on the property, Rusty suddenly darted across the yard at the wrong moment and was accidentally injured. Even though he was hurting, his sweet nature never faded. He continued to greet everyone with purrs and gentle nudges, doing his best to keep up with the other animals. When his mobility didn’t improve, one of the staff insisted that he be examined by a vet. That’s when his serious injury was discovered, and it became clear he needed more care than the farm could provide. Rusty came into Pet Patrol’s care, where he received the surgery he needed and finally got relief from his pain. He has been brave through it all — now, with his bright spirit and boundless love, Rusty is ready to begin the safe, happy, indoor life he has always deserved.
Personality:
Rusty is the kind of kitten who turns a house into a home the second his paws touch the floor. Adorable and endlessly affectionate, he’s happiest when he’s near his people—preferably curled upon the couch, purring like a tiny engine while soaking up all the snuggles he can get. Curiosity is Rusty’s superpower. Every sound, shadow, or mystery must be investigated, usually with wide eyes and a twitching tail. He’s a playful soul with a serious love for little balls and mouse toys. The cat tree is his kingdom: part jungle gym, part lookout tower, part nap spot after a hard day of being cute. Nothing slows him down, not even having only three legs. Rusty is unstoppable, zooming, climbing, and playing with fearless determination and zero sense of limitation. True to his orange tabby roots, he has a dash of spice—just enough sass and mischief to keep things interesting. Sweet, spirited, and full of love, Rusty is equal parts brave little warrior and professional snuggle bug. He is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
