Rescue:
Oreo and Fred were adopted as tiny kittens into a family home with young children, where they grew up together as beloved companions. Their lives changed suddenly and heartbreakingly when one of the parents passed away unexpectedly in their sleep, leaving the family reeling. Wanting to keep the cats close during such a difficult time, a family member took Oreo and Fred into her home, but soon discovered that her children were highly allergic to them. With no safe long term solution and wanting what was best for the boys, the difficult decision was made to reach out to Pet Patrol. Despite the upheaval and uncertainty, Oreo and Fred settled into care with surprising ease, proving themselves to be affectionate, gentle souls who had clearly known love. Now safe and together, they’re ready to begin the next chapter of their journey side by side.
Personality:
Oreo thrives on togetherness with his feline friends and human interaction. He is relaxed and happy in his foster home, eagerly greeting people whenever someone entered the room. Oreo tends to follow the lead of his friend Fred, often waiting for him to make the first move. However, Oreo is comfortable being picked up for human snuggles. He loves cozying up (and even sharing meals with) with Fred and the two can be quite chatty at familiar times of day, especially in the early morning and around dinnertime. Oreo’s playful energy is balanced by moments of cozy companionship. With his affectionate nature and strong connection to Fred, Oreo would do wonderful in a home willing to welcome these two best friends as a pair. Oreo is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
