Rescue:
Two Pet Patrol volunteers returned to a traditional country property where they had previously
rescued seven kittens living in a greenhouse, along with three ill teenage cats. This time they came
back for a pretty calico mama who was now ready to come into care — but discovered she also
had two sons from a fall litter the previous year. The woman explained that the cats were living on
the porch, and when we approached we saw an old kitchen chair in the corner with a cardboard
box placed on top. Inside was only a used entrance mat — no insulation, no heat source, and fully
exposed to the wind. As we spoke softly to them, the cats slowly crept out of the only shelter they
had, stiff and achy from the cold and from being cramped in such inadequate space. We had
originally intended to bring in only the calico mama, but we could not leave her boys behind.
Princess, Pitter and Patter were all brought into Pet Patrol care that day — finally safe, warm, and
no longer struggling to survive outdoors
Personality:
Patter is a lively, spirited kitten who loves to race through the sanctuary and chase ping pong balls
with determination and joy. He is playful, curious, and always looking for the next burst of fun. While
he may not be as attentionseeking as his brother, he is still friendly, social, and enjoys the
company of both people and other cats. Patter would thrive in a home where he has a feline friend
to play with — ideally even alongside Pitter, as the two boys bring out the best in each other. Patter
is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep
him safely indoors.
