Dafina

Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a call from a woman who needed help rehoming her family member’s remaining
cats, and the situation was heartbreaking. The family member struggled with addiction and the
home had become severely cluttered, unsafe, and in need of major repair. Over the years boarders
had come and gone, some even staying in the garage, and many of them brought cats with them.
When they moved out, they left their cats behind. Most were eventually rehomed, but Dafina and
her two kittens were still there when the call for help was made. By this time, the basement had
flooded with sewage and the house was not liveable. When Dafina and her babies arrived at Pet
Patrol they were understandably nervous, unsure of what this sudden change meant and what our
intentions were. But with gentle voices, soft hands, and patient reassurance, they quickly realized
they were safe. It didn’t take more than a few pets and cuddles for them to settle in, feeling secure,
comforted, and ready for a fresh start.

Personality:

Dafina is a lovely tortoise shell girl with a gentle nature and a warm, appreciative heart. She is
friendly and sweet, and truly wants nothing more than to receive affection and offer companionship
in return. Since arriving at the sanctuary, she has integrated beautifully with the other cats, settling
in without incident and showing calm confidence in her new surroundings. Dafina clearly values
having a clean, safe, and stable environment — something she had not known before. She enjoys
quiet company, soft pets, and simply being close to those who show her kindness. Dafina is ready
to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
