Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from a nearby farm that follows traditional practices. The owners
mentioned they had “too many kittens” and welcomed the rescue to take some. When asked about
the kittens’ health, they admitted the little ones had runny eyes and looked unwell. A volunteer went
to check on them and was immediately concerned. With cold weather setting in, the kittens’ bed
under the staircase offered only partial protection from drafts. Some kittens were on bales of hay,
while others were running on concrete dangerously close to horses hooves. Leaving them behind
was not an option. After some gentle persuasion, the farm agreed to allow the kittens to come back
with the volunteer. Pet Patrol also helped educate the family on spaying and neutering their adult
cats to prevent future litters. Now safe and thriving, these kittens are a reminder of how small
actions can make a big difference. Pet Patrol continues to support farms like this, helping control
the kitten population while giving every kitten a chance at a healthy, safe, and loving life.
