Rescue:
One of Pet Patrol’s volunteers was staked out at a storage facility, rescuing kittens spotted with
their mother near a busy road. The weather was cold, windy, and rainy, with icy puddles on the
ground and little shelter to be found. While the kittens had been safely brought into care, their
mother remained elusive, and the volunteer returned every evening for two weeks to try to catch
her. One night, while waiting quietly, she noticed an unfamiliar vehicle pull into the lot. It lingered
briefly before leaving, and soon after, a small tortoiseshell kitten appeared, running along the road.
Shocked and concerned, the volunteer watched as the kitten cautiously approached the food in a
nearby trap. Starving and desperate, she didn’t hesitate long before stepping inside, and the trap
door closed safely behind her. This little kitten, later named Mahina, was clearly hungry but friendly,
and her rescuer could sense how relieved she was to finally be safe. Brought instantly into Pet
Patrol’s care, Mahina filled her empty belly before curling up in a deep, much needed sleep, finally warm, full, and secure.
Personality:
Mahina is an adorable little kitten with the biggest purr and a heart full of love. She adores lap time,
happily curling up to keep you company while you read or watch a movie, and she’s gentle and
patient with children, enjoying being handled and carried around. Curious and playful, Mahina loves
climbing the cat tree, chasing balls, and exploring her surroundings. She’s also friendly with other
cats, making her a lovely fit for a multi pet
household. Sweet, affectionate, and full of charm,
Mahina will be a wonderful addition to any family. Mahina is ready to be adopted into her forever
home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
