Rescue:

Smarties and Spritz were found in a small town, taking shelter in a neighbour’s shed, which is
usually left open and used for storing equipment like a tractor and snow blower. The weather had
been extremely hot and humid, and the kittens were often seen darting in and out of the shed,
looking for shade and safety. It took some time and patience to rescue them, as they were wary and
quick to hide among the machinery. A humane trap was set, and eventually both kittens were safely
brought into care. There was one more little kitten roaming around, now alone and disoriented, and
successful efforts were made and now no one is left behind. Snickerdoodle is now reuntied with his
brothers Smarties and Spritz. They are safe, cool, and learning to trust in their new surroundings.

Personality:

Smarties is a curious and independent kitten who’s always ready for playtime with his brothers. His
favourite toy? Anything he can chase. His favourite nap spot? Curled into a perfect cinnamon bun in
the hammock of the cat tree. Though he’s more reserved than his brother Snickerdoodle, Smarties
is slowly discovering the joy of snuggles, especially cozy head rubs when he’s curled up and
content. Recently, he’s even started approaching his foster for affection—nudging into their hands
and almost climbing into their laps! With a little time and patience, this sweet boy is showing more of
his affectionate side every day. Smarties is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will
welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
