Rescue:
Honey appeared one day at a quiet rural property, dainty and determined. The barn was very tidy,
the animals well cared for—including a colony of feral cats who lived peacefully on the land. But
Honey was different. She didn’t want to stay outside. She waited near the door of the house,
meowed softly, and longed to be let in. It was clear she wasn’t a barn cat; more than likely, she
had been dropped off, unwanted and left to fend for herself. When Pet Patrol volunteers arrived to
help her, they found Honey nestled near a large bucket filled with straw, and kittens. But not just
her own. A second bucket nearby held another litter, all tiny faces peering up with wide, unsure
eyes. Ten kittens in total, old enough to eat on their own but still needing care. There was no
question—they were all coming with us. Now Honey and her babies are safe, warm, and
surrounded by love. She no longer waits by a door wondering when her family will return, because
a new, better chapter has begun.
Personality:
Heather is adventurous and laidback,
a playful kitten who loves to explore, climb, and chew on just
about anything fun. She enjoys carrying ribbons or spring toys in her mouth and loves to play with
her brother Henry, they tire each other out and then curl up for a nap. Though she’s still learning to
enjoy pets and cuddles, Heather is gentle and easygoing, making progress every day. She would
be happiest adopted with Henry or into a home with another young cat to match her curious spirit.
Heather is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and
keep her safely indoors.
