Rescue:

On the peaceful grounds of a historic B & B, a feral cat had become a familiar face to staff; usually
keeping her distance, but occasionally accepting gentle pets from those with enough patience. This
spring, it was clear she was pregnant, and soon after, she gave birth to four healthy kittens in the
attic. She was a devoted mother… until something changed. Just a few days after the kittens were
born, staff noticed the mama had moved three of her babies—but one was left behind. That tiny
kitten was Reya. They waited, hoping she would return, but when she didn’t, they knew they had to
act fast. A cozy space was set up, and through a quick call between a staff member and their sister
—a Pet Patrol volunteer—Reya was soon safely in our care. We worried the mama had sensed
something wrong. But to our delight, Reya was brighteyed,
strong, and full of life. Just the night
before, another mama cat had arrived at the sanctuary and given birth. We gently introduced Reya
to the new family, and in a beautiful moment of acceptance, the mama welcomed her right in.

Personality:

Raya is a confident, high energy
kitten who has been bold and independent since day one. Being
orphaned never slowed her down, she greets every person like a long lost
friend and is always
ready to play. When she’s not zooming around, she melts into your arms for cuddles and purrs. She
enjoys the company of her siblings but doesn’t rely on them, making her a great fit for a home with
or without other cats. Raya is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her
into the family and keep her safely indoors.
