Rescue:
Life on the farm had become overwhelming for a kind couple, trying to do right by the animals on
their rural property. They were struggling to manage the evergrowing
population of cats. People abandoned cats on their land, and without the resources to spay or
neuter them all, pregnancies occurred again and again. Among the adult cats were two lovely adult
females: Chara, a gentle cat likely unspayed, and Dory, a nursing mom to five sweet kittens.
Though the couple cared deeply for their cat colony, they often gave kittens away for free,
desperate to reduce numbers but unable to break the cycle. Fortunately, two compassionate vet
techs learned about the situation and immediately stepped in. Knowing the importance of proper
vet care and responsible rescue, they made the long 90 minute journey to bring Chara, Dory, and
her kittens to safety. When they arrived at the sanctuary, it was clear these cats had been loved.
The rescuers were charmed, and so were we. Thanks to quick action and kindness, Dory and
Chara’s days of uncertainty are behind them.
Personality:
Dax is a “best friend” kind of kitten, easygoing, affectionate, and endlessly lovable. He’s playful
and fun, but never overwhelming. Dax is the kind of cat who just wants to hang out with you and be
your cozy companion. He adores a good snuggle and often falls asleep on or beside you with his
deep, grateful purr rumbling away. Remarkably tolerant and great with kids, Dax will happily trade
kisses for cat treats. Dax is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him
into the family and keep him safely indoors.
