Rescue:
Joey was originally adopted from a large animal shelter to an elderly woman who lived with her
adult son. Unfortunately, no one was aware that Joey was fearful of men—something that became
clear shortly after arriving in the home. Spooked and unsettled, Joey managed to escape, and for
over two weeks he was on the run. Although the woman left her door open and food out for him,
Joey refused to return. He had taken shelter beneath a nearby home, frightened and alone. With
help from a Pet Patrol volunteer and kind neighbours, humane traps were set to safely bring him in.
After nearly three weeks, Joey finally walked into one. He was thin, dehydrated, and clearly
exhausted from his ordeal. Pet Patrol took him in immediately to ensure he received the medical
attention and care he so desperately needed. Recognizing that her home wasn’t the right fit for
such a sensitive boy, the adopter lovingly signed him over to our care. Joey is now safe, slowly
healing, and getting the chance to find a home where he’ll truly feel secure and loved.
Personality:
Joey is the definition of a sweetheart. Call his name, and he’ll lift his head, give a cheerful little
chirp, and trot right over for some love. This affectionate boy is a total lap cat, he’s happiest curled
up beside you or stretched out for a good cuddle session. He loves belly rubs, purrs easily, and
sleeps contentedly on the bed at night, soaking up all the closeness he can get. Joey is friendly
with everyone he meets, brighteyed,
playful, and always in a good mood. He’s a happy go lucky
guy with a gentle soul and an easygoing charm that makes him the perfect companion. Joey is
ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors.
