Fontina

Rescue:

Fontina was one of many cats living near a busy lumberyard, a place filled with sheds, stacks of
pallets, and constant danger. Across the road, a kind woman did her best to help, putting out food
and warm shelters for the wandering cats who had nowhere else to go. It was a tough life, but for
cats like Fontina, it was the only one they had ever known. Unspayed and left to fend for herself,
Fontina was destined to breed and raise multiple litters of kittens in this unpredictable environment.
She was young but had to learn how to survive—dodging traffic, finding shelter, and avoiding larger
predatory animals that roamed nearby. But even the most resilient street cats can only survive for
so long. When Pet Patrol was alerted to the colony, rescuers knew they had to help. Fontina, with
her striking beauty and gentle nature, was among those brought into safety. No longer struggling to
find food or a warm place to sleep, she has embraced indoor life with relief and gratitude. Now,
she’s ready for a loving home where she’ll never have to worry about where her next meal will
come from or how to keep herself safe from harm.

Personality:

Meet Fontina, a soft and fluffy little kitten with the sweetest personality. She’s a bit shy at first, but
every day she’s learning that love and affection feel pretty great. When you reach out to pet her,
she arches her back into your hand, soaking up the attention. She’s still figuring out cuddles, but
she’s starting to trust that people can be kind. While Fontina is gentle and quiet most of the time,
there’s one thing that brings out her playful side—her ribbon toy. The second she sees it, she’s all
in, chasing, pouncing, and letting out the cutest little meows. She gets so excited that she won’t
stop talking about it, proudly carrying it around as if it’s the best thing in the world. Fontina may take
a little time to fully come out of her shell, but once she does, she’s pure sweetness. She just needs
a patient person to show her that love is safe and that gentle hands mean comfort. With a little time
and plenty of ribbon play, she’ll make a wonderful, loyal companion. Fontina would love to be
adopted into a home with another cat, or alongside her friend Duncan. A home where she will be welcomed into the family and kept safely indoors
