Rescue:

Pet Patrol meets a lot of different people over the years and this one person we met at the
very beginning of our 24 years of operation. She was one of the founding members of the
first cat rescue organization in the area. Living in a rural area now she has, over the years,
found a number of cats coming into her community that she has rescued. One of them is
Winter. She had seen him crossing the main highway near her home many times. Thinking
maybe he’d come from a neighbouring farm she questioned the people who live there, but
they had no idea about him. He just showed up one day. Being very friendly and social he
was welcome but the other cats there would run him off constantly. By now Winter was
extremely thin and not looking so good. She took her cat carrier in the car as she went to
look for him. He wasn’t hard to find; his white fur stood out. He came running to her when
she got out of the car and bent over to pet him. She opened the cat carrier and he walked
right in. This boy was ready to be rescued.

Personality:

Such a nice and affectionate boy. When he first came into our care, he was more interested
in being pet and given hugs than he was in food or water. He eventually did dive in and
eat everything. And has continued to eat and thrive since then. Winter has shown us that
even though his life was very rough, unloving, unrelenting and desolate, he persevered and
his wonderful personality has helped him to be rescued sooner rather than later. Winter is ready to
be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors
