Izumi

Rescue:

One of Pet Patrol’s long-time volunteers lives in a small village and has a feeding station
on her front porch. She cares for a lot of strays that migrate in from surrounding farms. Her
next-door neighbour sent her a video showing a poor cat, limping dramatically across the
driveway and ducking under a bush for safety. A humane trap was set up to rescue the
injured cat and at 6:45 a.m. the next morning, the neighbour knocked on the door to let her
know that they had captured a cat and it was in the trap on her porch. When the lady
looked in the trap it wasn’t the injured one they were looking for, however this was a cat
that had been seen since the fall, and had spent the entire winter outside. This was Izumi
and he was brought Pet Patrol, scanned for a microchip (none found), and determined that he
was a male cat. Despite the fact that he was scared, he was able to be pet. He
seemed to appreciate the love and attention. Now Izumi is neutered and receiving love,
snuggles, good food, a safe and warm place to sleep and toys to play with in his foster home.

Personality:

From his foster mom: “Meet Izumi, a sweet foster cat with a beautiful coat. When Izumi
first arrived, he hid quite a bit, but with some time and patience he slowly opened up and is
now the world’s biggest cuddle bug. He became more social and he loves to play! He likes
to be in the know, following his loved ones closely and eager to explore the world around
him. Izumi plays excellently with the other cat in the home and has a love for toys, specifically the tinsel balls and little mice. He can be a bit hesitant, but with some patience and
encouragement, he will open right up. Izumi loves pets on his head, which get his motor
going. He would do amazing in a household that fosters his growth and shows him endless
love.” This handsome boy is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will
welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
