Rescue:
Esmeralda appeared on a rural property close to a small village. The couple have lived there
for many years and have never had cats show up before. Early in the spring they found a
friendly mother cat and her litter of kittens in the window well which looks into their basement
shop. Soon they were rescued, with the Dad cat, and brought into Pet Patrol care for medical
care and adoption. Now, just a few months later Esmeralda appeared on their back deck,
meowing at them and wanting attention and affection. They immediately started feeding her
and then checked her belly. Yup, she was nursing kittens, but they were nowhere in sight, and
after eating she would trot back into the woods. Now it was a waiting game and eventually
she brought her kittens (Ellington, Elyse, Elija and Ellis) to the feeding station and window well
as it was safe, and the kittens were not able to roam around without her in attendance. Soon,
they too were brought into Pet Patrol for care and have done very well.
Personality:
Ellis and his brother Elijah have created games of Chase and HIde & Seek with each other.
They are happy go lucky and seek each other out for playtime and cuddles. This little fella
likes to investigate anything that is new, each and every room in the house and especially
when new people come to visit . He is quite friendly and doesn’t mind being picked up and
carried, he purrs instantly and likes to be pampered with pets and ear rubs. Ellis is ready to be
adopted into his forever home, hopefully with his brother. One that will welcome them into the
family and keep them safely indoors.
