Rescue:
A woman who lives in a small village, about 20 minutes off the main highway, has rescued
many cats over the years. Because this town only has three or four streets, the cats that are
coming in from the local farms wander through the town and are noticed quickly. Food and
water is put out for them, and in some places, there is shelter as well. One day a little cat, now
known as Glen, appeared on the woman’s property. It was late at night and the weather was
starting to turn colder as winter was approaching. Little Glen scooted off quickly and was not
seen again, until the next day when a neighbour called to say she saw him. He was at least
two streets over and way at the other end of the village. She was on her way out the door to an
event and could not go to try and rescue him at that moment and hoped he would not go much
farther. Next morning he was under her porch, curled up in a cozy spot she had prepared for
him. She easily reached under and picked him up and brought him into the house. As easy
and as unexpected as that. Glen was soon on his way to the sanctuary and although he was a
little worse for wear because of the cold and damp weather, he quickly recovered and is out
and about with the other cats in his foster home.
Personality:
Glen is just the sweetest boy. He is very cute, friendly, affectionate and loves his people.
When he arrived at the sanctuary his eyes grew big as he looked around at his new surroundings, taking it all in, but in no time he had dived into the food and taken a long deserved nap.
He has been happy go lucky since then, having to not worry about where to find comfort, food
and people to care for him. Discovering toys has been fun to watch as he had not had them
before and he seems to like anything to chase or jump after. Glen is ready to be adopt into his
forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
