Rescue:
Little Binky was born to a mother cat named Wilomina. She was found on a country property that has a long laneway leading to the house and over the years a few cats suddenly
show up, homeless and disoriented. In the late spring Wilomina showed up and promptly
had five kittens which the couple cared for and treated them all well. When the woman
called Pet Patrol, she explained that Wilomina now has a second litter of kittens and she
could not look after all of them. Binky and his siblings arrived at Pet Patrol very loving,
affectionate and easy to carry around and cuddle.
Rufus is a kitten that was being given away for free. Apparently the owners had the habit
of taking in cats but did not have them spayed or neutered, so quite quickly they multiplied.
Once they reached a certain age they were allowed outdoor to roam around the back yard,
and of course the rest of the neighbourhood, much to the dismay and shagrin of the people
surrounding them. The cats were not allowed back inside the house, little shelter or food
was provided – they were simply discarded. A kind woman alerted Pet Patrol to the situation and all the cats were brought into our care.
Personality:
While Binky and Rufus may have come from separate litters, they have bonded like brothers over the past 3 months. Together they love to chase each other around, have wrestling
matches and groom each other. They have been found basking in the sun together, while
catching a little cat nap in the afternoon. When one starts playing, the other is quickly
nearby to join in the fun. They love to play with mice, catnip pillows, springs and pipe
cleaners. Anything that moves, is also fair game, including electric toys, chase the ball
toys, and feather wands. Individually, Rufus likes being carried like a baby, while Binky
loves to snuggle up beside you on the couch.
