Rescue:

The following email was sent to Pet Patrol on a cold and raining fall day. “Are you in a position
to consider a single, young, unneutered adult male. He is a champagne and white, short
haired barn cat, probably a year old, who lives with six other male cats in a rental barn. A
woman from this area is hired to clean there weekly, and she feeds the cats when she is there.
This boy is deteriorating in front of her eyes – losing weight, showing fight wounds and no
longer cleaning himself well. Currently, he is getting matted and tufty, and his bottom looks a
bit red. She sees that the other males are harassing and chasing him away. The poor fellow
is very lovey-dovey – very people oriented. She is going to try to apprehend him this evening
and can put him in the garage temporarily.” The next day this poor neglected and abused kitty
was in our care.

Personality:

Gary has showed us how very affectionate and loving he is as soon as he came out of the
carrier. He’s easy to pick up and carry and readily asks for attention. What a sweet cat. He
loves attention and migrated to people instantly. While living at the sanctuary with the other
cats, he’s felt very safe and welcomed. There have been no issues with this boy. He is very
good at quickly learning about the toys, chasing them, and keeps them very much in sight.
Capture of a wand toy or a catnip mouse is a definite. Gary is a wonderful cat ready to be
adopted into his forever home. One that we will welcome him into the family keep him safely
indoors.
