Rescue:
Pet Patrol has an excellent relationship with the pet food store locally, and they support us with
fundraising and another ways to help us continue the work that we do. For the second time
within a week, they have found a kitten in the parking lot outside the store. As the store owner
was leaving for the day, she noticed a truck pull out of the parking lot, close to her car and lo
and behold there was a little black and white kitten left behind. What is suspected is that little
Gracie was up in the engine of the truck, and had a ride in from a farm. We have no idea
whose truck it was or where they came from. It took a little bit to rescue this little one from a
busy parking lot, but she ran towards the building and sat up on top of one of the window
ledges. A kind passerby was able to gently approach her and quickly pick her up. From there
she came into Pet Patrol care and has done very well since.
Personality:
Gracie is adorable. She is easy to pick up and carry around, she loves the attention and to be
cradled. It is obvious that she was around gentle children and caring people in her previous
environment. She has quite enjoyed being in the sanctuary with all the toys and especially the
cat climbers and the cat tunnel. Give her a cardboard box with a toy mouse, and she will
happily play for a very long time until she’s tuckered out when she curls up and has a nap. This
little one is kind, happy, gentle, cuddly and playful – a wonderful family kitty. Gracie is ready to
be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
