Rescue:

It seemed like Ulan had suddenly just appeared out of nowhere. One of the staff of a pet food
store had just been outside, and almost just a few seconds later a woman came into the store
holding a little black kitten. She was a regular customer and she had a look of surprise and
concern on her face. She said that she had just found this kitten outside of the store and
wondered if the little ones auditioning for adoption in the store cage had somehow gotten
outside. No, those kittens were safe and sound but where did Ulan come from? The manager
quickly took this little guy into the back room and put him in a cat carrier, and got him some
food and water. Ulan devoured it – he was starving! He also smelled a little like axle grease
and his fur was grimy. Our best guess is that because the weather was particularly cold and
wet, he got inside a car or truck engine and traveled from a rural property. When the vehicle
stopped in the large plaza parking lot, he jumped out and ran in fear. He is a lucky boy that he
jumped out in the right location and a good Samaritan found him.

Personality:

What a sweet, cute cat! Ulan is ready to be picked up and cuddled at any time. He is a very
lovely boy who has obviously been handled gently by people at some point. This little guy
loves playing with toys and bopping around after balls that roll or bounce. He’s a big fan of the
wand toy and is a master at darting through the cat tunnel. He is quite mesmerized by the
birds outside at the feeder – that’s a great source of entertainment for him! Ulan is ready to be
adopted into a forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely
indoors. .
