Rescue:
Morey is a very sweet and loving cat who had been adopted by an older woman who already
had a dog. We’re not really sure why she took on another pet because she has very limited
income and she admitted to not being able to get his vaccinations done at the vet. The opportunity for being neutered or to be placed on better quality food was just not there. The reason
she contacted Pet Patrol about re homing him was because she found she was highly allergic
to him. She had had cats through out her life but all of a sudden she had developed issues
with the cat dander and could not live with it. When our volunteer arrived to pick up Morey the
woman said she had reached out to cat rescue organizations before to re home the previous
cats she had, and was looking for a new family for her dog as well. It is unfortunate that she
could not afford to have a pet in her home, as she loves them, but if veterinary care and
decent quality pet food is not within the budget she did the right thing by re homing them.
Personality:
Morley is an awesome boy. He is gentle and sweet, is very comfortable being picked up and
carried and is quite the lap cat. He has been in a quiet home where there were no children
and we find he is concerned with the sudden movements and activities of a young family. But
a home which is adult only or with older teens would be fine. He has lived with a passive dog
as well. Morley is still learning about toys and it seems as if there was not much in the way of
entertainment for him before and he had to figure out what to play with on his own. His eyes
light up with interactive toys and he loves catnip mice. He would be fine with another cat
that is accepting and also as laid back as Morley is. He is just a lovely boy with a personality
that will shine though in a home he can call his own. He is ready to be adopted into his forever
home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
