Mamba & Durante

Mamba & Durante

Mamba & Durante

Rescue:

Pet Patrol was alerted to a situation in a small rural village where a calico cat had been traveling
from a nearby dairy farm in search of food and eventually arrived at a property with several kittens,
joining a growing group of young black cats that had also begun appearing in the area. In
communities like this, since spaying and neutering are not always prioritized, it isn’t unusual for cats
to move between farms and homes looking for food and shelter. Different local families began
feeding the cats and setting up heated shelters. Over time, trust was built with some of the kittens,
including Durante. He was brought indoors in hopes of keeping him safe, but with limited resources
and multiple unaltered cats already in the home, it soon became difficult to manage. Around the
same time, Mamba stood out among the group for his especially friendly nature. Both came into Pet
Patrol’s care, adapting quickly to indoor life.

Personality:

Mamba and Durante are both growing into their own, each with unique personalities while sharing a
strong bond. Mamba is blossoming into a great first cat, balancing independence with affection—he
enjoys exploring but quickly turns into a velcro companion once he settles, often chirping and
following Durante for snuggles, and showing a playful side with wand toys. Durante is a gentle,
quiet boy who is still learning to feel safe with people and will need a patient home, as quick
movements can make him nervous. He has a soft, easygoing nature, enjoys watching the world
from a windowsill, and looks to Mamba for reassurance, often calling out softly when searching for
him. Together, they’re ready for a calm, patient forever home that will welcome them as family and
keep them safely indoors.
