I wanted to say… thank you.
My surgery is over, and my face has healed. The big, painful wound is gone now, and I don’t feel that constant ache anymore. For the first time in a long time… I’m comfortable.
After my surgery, I stayed in a cage so the humans could make sure I got my medication and enough rest while I healed. I didn’t mind too much — it felt safe, and I was able to relax without worrying about what might be out there.
Now that I’m feeling better, I’ve started to explore the sanctuary. I still like to curl up in an open cage sometimes — old habits, I think — but I’m getting braver. I’ve met some new kitty friends, and I’m learning how to play again.
I’m still figuring out people. Life before wasn’t always kind, so it’s taking me some time to understand that gentle hands are safe. But the humans here are patient. They don’t rush me. They don’t give up on me.
And I’m starting to believe them.
I like soft beds. I like quiet moments. I even enjoy gentle pats… and toys are actually pretty fun.
Because of you, I was able to get the care I needed to heal and begin this new life. I’m not just surviving anymore… I’m learning how to live.
