My Belly Hurts

Hi… it’s me one more time, Rocco. I have the best news. I’m all better. My tummy surgery was a big, scary adventure, but thanks to all of you, I made it through. The blockage is gone, my body is healing, and I’m finally back to feeling like the curious, playful kitten I’m meant to be.

For a while after surgery I had to wear a little onesie so I wouldn’t bother my stitches. I’ll admit… it was a bit embarrassing. A growing boy has a reputation to maintain, after all. But my foster family kept telling me how handsome I looked and made sure I was snuggled, comforted, and reassured every step of the way. I’m especially grateful to them for all the love they gave me while I healed. And I’m even more grateful to every single person who donated to help save me. I know my surgery and care are expensive, and it means so much to know that people cared enough to help a little kitten like me. Because of you, I get to be healthy again.

And now I can finally do my favourite things… like playing with my brother Romeo. Soon we will be back to racing down the hallway, wrestling, chasing toys, and curling up together when the day winds down. I might be the softhearted sweetheart of the pair—sometimes a little shy at first—but once I feel safe, I melt into purrs, cuddles, and plenty of zoomies.
Romeo brings the sass, I bring the softness, and together we bring a whole lot of love.
Thank you for giving me my life back. I appreciate every single one of you more than you know.

With the happiest purrs and the fastest hallway sprints,
Rocco

Hi… it’s me again, Rocco. I have some really important news to share. Because of your kindness and donations, the vet was able to go ahead with my emergency surgery. The scary blockage in my tummy was removed, and the doctors worked very hard to help me feel better. My foster family says you helped save my life.

Right now I’m resting and healing. My body has been through a lot, so I still need fluids, medications, careful monitoring, and follow-up visits to make sure everything inside my tummy is working the way it should again. I’m still a little sore and tired, but every day I’m getting a tiny bit stronger. The surgery was only the first step in helping me recover. My care continues while I heal, and the vet team wants to make sure there are no complications and that my little body fully recovers so I can get back to being the curious, playful kitten I used to be. Pet Patrol stepped in immediately when I needed help the most, and thanks to you they were able to say yes to the surgery that saved me. They’re still helping me through the rest of my recovery now. If you’re able to continue sharing my story or helping with my post-surgery care, it means the world to me. I’m still healing… but I’m already feeling a little more hopeful. And one day soon, I’ll be back to zooming around and getting into trouble again.

With grateful purrs,
Rocco

Hi… my name is Rocco. I’m usually a curious, bouncy little kitty. I like to explore everything, chase toys, and get into places I probably shouldn’t. Life is usually fun. But right now… I feel really, really bad. My tummy hurts all the time. I keep getting sick, and nothing stays down. I don’t want to eat. I don’t even want to drink. I just lie there, quiet and still, because moving makes everything feel worse. I’m not playing. I’m not purring the same way. I’m just… tired. My foster family knew something wasn’t right. They took me to the vet, hoping it was something simple. I got medicine, and everyone hoped I would bounce back. But I didn’t. By the next morning, I was worse. Sicker. Quieter. More uncomfortable. So we went back, had an X-ray… and that’s when they found something really scary. There’s a blockage in my intestine.  That means something is stuck inside me, and my body can’t pass it. It’s causing everything to back up, making me feel sicker and sicker. The vet said this isn’t something that can wait — without surgery, it can become life-threatening very quickly. I don’t understand all of that… I just know my tummy hurts, and I need help…  The good news is — there is a way to fix this. The vet can remove the blockage with surgery, and if everything goes well, I can go back to being the playful, happy kitten I’m meant to be. Pet Patrol is already working to schedule my emergency surgery, because they believe I deserve that chance.

But emergency care like this is expensive, especially all at once:
• Exams and X-rays to find the problem
• Surgery to remove the blockage
• Medications, fluids, and aftercare
• Follow-up visits to make sure I heal safely.

They didn’t hesitate to help me — even though it’s a lot. If you’re able to donate or share my story, you’re helping give me that second chance. You’re helping take away this pain and replace it with play, comfort, and a future. I’m scared… but I’m also hopeful. Because I know I’m not alone. Thank you for caring about a little kitten who just wants to feel better again.

With small, hopeful purrs,
Rocco
