Marshmallow

Marshmallow

Rescue:

Marshmallow came to Pet Patrol through word of mouth when a woman who does cat rescue in a
small town heard about her situation. This little one had originally been picked up from a local farm
as one of many unwanted kittens born that year and was brought into a family home with children.
Over the next few months, it became clear that Marshmallow was not settling into the busy
environment. Naturally shy and skittish, she spent much of her time hiding and was frightened by
the household dogs and wary of the children. Despite the family’s hopes, she was not becoming the
interactive companion they had envisioned. In situations like this, it’s important to think with both
compassion and practicality. While the wife was reluctant to part with her, the husband recognized
that it was not fair for Marshmallow to live in constant stress and hiding. With no veterinary care yet
completed and the family unable to move forward with those costs, arrangements were made for
Marshmallow to come to the sanctuary, where she could begin a calmer, safer chapter of her life.

Personality:

Marshmallow has shown us just how sweet she can be in a new environment. She would thrive in a
calm home without young children or dogs. Marshmallow loves being petted—her little butt goes
right up in the air and she flops onto her side for more attention. She enjoys playing with springs
and toy mice and is becoming a confident little girl. Marshmallow is looking for her forever family,
someone she can snuggle up with on the couch and feel safe with. She would do best in a loving
home that will keep her safely indoors.
